The monograph discusses the physical foundations of the technological processes of laser processing, as well as issues of the interaction of concentrated laser radiation with materials, the formation of a plasma torch and a steam -gas channel. Analytical and numerical methods for analyzing temperature fields and residual stresses during laser treatment are presented. On the basis of a brief presentation of the basics of the theory of crystallization, the processes of hardening of liquid metal in the conditions of laser exposure are considered. The features of phase and structural transformations of materials in a solid state are described. Much attention is paid to the technological strength of the metal during laser processing. Summarizes and systematized ideas about the features of the formation of cracks in various temperature intervals during laser welding and surfacing.
