The analysis of internal power factors in rod systems and the approach to calculations for strength for permissible stresses are considered. Examples of constructing the diagrams of internal power factors and calculations for strength with simple types of loading: stretching-surveillance, transverse bend (for plastic and fragile materials), twisting are given. Particular attention is paid to conditional calculations for the strength of elements of components and compounds. Calid dependences are presented for determining normal and tangent stresses with simple types of loading and voluminous epics of their distribution by cross section, reference data relating to the mechanical characteristics of some brands of steels, alleys of non -ferrous and light metals, gray cast iron, as well as the geometric characteristics of the senior sections necessary in solving problems .
