The basics of cutting materials and cutting tools. Tutorial. SPO

The training manual discusses modern materials used for the manufacture of machine parts and their processingability with cutting, modern instrumental materials used for blade and abrasive processing of workpieces. The basic concepts and definitions are given, as well as general and theoretical issues on the theory of cutting materials, in particular, the geometric parameters of the cutting part of the tool, the physical essence of the cutting process, the methodology for calculating cutting modes. The dynamics and modeling of the process formation process and the heat loss process during blade mechanical processing, wear and resistance of the cutting tool, the reliability of the processing process and the control features of the cutting process are considered. Questions about the action of the external environment when cutting metals, types of treatment with cutting and cutting tools are generalized.
