The main processes occurring in fuels, oils and operational fluids are considered when they are used in tractors and cars. The main indicators of the quality of operational materials and methods for their definition both in a specialized laboratory and in the conditions of the household are indicated. The influence of deviations from the standard of each of the main indicators of the quality of fuels and oils on the operability of the engine, transmission and hydraulic system of the tractor and car was listed.
