The publication presents the material of the basic course of lectures on the discipline "Resistance of Materials", read within two semesters at the RSU Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkina. The main provisions and definitions of the discipline, including the following topics: classification of forces and loads, geometric characteristics of flat sections, stretching, twisting, shift, bend, strength and deformation calculations on these types of loading, the theory of stress-deformed state at point, strength calculations, are considered With complex resistance, the unmarried theory of thin and thick-walled shells, the determination of movements during bending, the disclosure of static indefinitely of mechanical systems, issues of stability of compressed rods, cyclic strength, dynamic effects of loads, fluctuations and shock. The solutions to problems in the main sections of the course are considered.
The material complies with the requirements set forth in the program for higher education at the course "Resistance of Materials".
