Special materials in mechanical engineering. Textbook

The basic patterns of the structure and properties of materials used in a number of special industries are presented. The stamps and areas of the use of high -strength structural steels, refined steels and steels of cryogenic technology, compositional and powder materials, shipbuilding corps steels and steels for ice platforms, ceramic and wear -resistant materials, materials for the food industry are considered. Methods for assessing the structural strength of metals and ways to increase it are given. The properties and areas of application of special purposes are considered: magnetic and electrical, superconducting, with special thermal and elastic properties, metals with form memory, radiation -resistant and amorphous materials. The methodology and principles of the choice of materials for specific products and taking into account the working conditions of their use are described.
