The textbook sets out the theoretical foundations of the discipline Soil Science with the basics of geology. The textbook consists of two sections. In the first of them, the stated material covers the lighting of the basics of geology: the structure, origin and material composition of the earth"s crust, endo- and exogenous processes, minerals and rocks, the formation, classification and properties of rocks, taking into account their properties when used in construction. The second section is devoted to science soil science: the concept of soil, functions performed by soils at the biosphere and biogeocenotic levels, soil -forming process, soil morphology, the physical, and the chemical properties of the soil, soil modes, fertility, and the classification of soils according to their geographical distribution, methods of studying, in a separate The chapter discusses the soils of the taiga and tundra zones of the north-east of the European part of Russia
