The main terms and provisions of the theory of reliability, methods of increasing the reliability of mountain machines are set out. Formulas are given for calculating reliability indicators and methods for substantiating structural schemes of underground complexes when analyzing the level of reliability. Ways to determine the frequency of equipment prevention during operation are considered. The sequence of forming a service for servicing mining equipment is recommended. Examples of calculation of reliability characteristics are given in the performance of the calculation and graphic assignment on the course “Reliability of Mountain Machines and Equipment” for students of higher educational institutions in the specialty “Mining”
