Preliminary Design and Modernization of Ship Power Plants. Part I. Tutorial

The first part of the training manual outlines the provisions of the choice of a prototype vessel for the sketch design of the energy installation based on the analysis of the functional features and prospects for the development of sea transport. The requirements of international conventions and national regulatory documents for environmental safety and energy efficiency of sea vessels are generalized. Information on the technical and operational characteristics of marine transport vessels and technical means of mastering the continental shelf are given. It was developed in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention on the preparation and certification of sailors and carrying out the shift of 1978, taking into account the 2010 Manil amendments. Takes into account the current national and international regulatory documents on the sketch design of ship energy plants and was developed on the basis of the experience of training ship mechanical engineers in the Black Sea Higher Naval School named after P.S. Nakhimova.
