Data on traditional and promising methods of hardening processing of widely used solid alloys of the tungsten group groups are systematized and analyzed. The physical foundations of structural formation in alloys after thermal, vibro and shot processing, diamond grinding, laser and ultrasonic exposure, electric hardening, electric discharge, radiation irradiation and other methods of superficial and volumetric effects on their structure and phase composition are presented. The nature of the hardened solid alloys and aspects of increasing the operational characteristics of a metalworking tool made on their basis is analyzed. The regimes of its hardening and operation are justified. Methods of modeling the structure and properties of solid alloys of varying degrees of complexity used to solve a different circle of problems are presented. The results of the practical use of the analyzed methods of hardening are given.
