Theoretical information is given about the processes of deoxidation, modification and microlegy of steel, about the influence of various impurities that are inevitably in steel, on its quality. Methods of removal and deactivation of harmful impurities of the metal are highlighted. The experience of domestic factories to improve the quality of cast products made of steel methods of microlegation and modification is generalized. Examples of using a new generation modifier are given.
