The monograph is a fundamental study of the role of Ural metallurgy in Russian history. For the first time, historiography in the broad chronological framework considers the processes of its creation and transformation, the formation of the technosphere, the energy and raw materials base, the improvement of the technical and technological foundations and the functioning of management mechanisms. A new interpretation of general theoretical and concrete historical problems of the development of metallurgy is proposed.
