Some aspects of mathematical modeling are considered, including the development and use of steppe and polynomial equations connecting the output indicators and regime variable machining. The issues and the tasks of structural and parametric optimization for operations of one- and multi-tool cutting processing are considered. For parametric optimization of regime parameters, the methods of linear and nonlinear programming are disassembled. The algorithms of optimal control of the regime parameters are given, including stabilization of the speed of wear of the tool.
