The textbook was developed in accordance with the curriculum in the disciplines "Material Science" and "Material Science and Technology of structural materials" for students studying in the specialties of higher professional education.
The textbook sets out the fundamental provisions of the theory of alloys, alloys based on iron, zirconium, beryllium, copper, aluminum, amorphous and radiation-resistant alloys, non-metallic materials, nanostructured, ceramic and compositional materials. The theory and technology of thermal, chemical, thermomechanical and laser treatments are considered. The processes of corrosion and wear of materials, a change in their properties as a result of aging are described. Modern technologies of plasma, electron beam and laser welding, radiation methods for processing materials, processing centers, new technologies for the manufacture of blanks with castings, plastic deformation are given
