The textbook examines the mechanical essence of the parts of the machines, the issues of the purpose and performance of the drive are revealed, the basics of kinematic and strength calculations of mechanisms, typical parts and components of machines are given. Recommendations are given the choice and use of structures of mechanisms, both separate programs and the entire drive module as a whole. Industrial types and designs of electric motors, gearboxes, speed boxes, variators, connected and controlled couplings are represented. The issues of evolution, technological progress of the main parts, components, and machine programs are considered. The analogy of these designs is given on the example of a famous bicycle. The textbook contains questions for self -testing after each chapter.
