The study of Kochka-sailing-harem ships that made a significant contribution to the development of Siberia and the Far East-has a long history, however, an extremely limited number of sources and the lack of reliable images still give rise to many issues regarding their appearance and equipment. The authors of the book - historians, specialists in folk shipbuilding - together collected the latest data on the kochi, received by them during expeditions, archival research and historical reconstructions. Of particular interest are the materials of the excavations of the settlement of the mangase on the river. The pelvis, where in the eternal permafrost a large number of fragments of these vessels used in the designs of residential and outbuildings were discovered. A continuation of research can be a large -scale historical experiment: the construction and equipment of Koch in accordance with traditional technology and testing it in marine conditions
