General information about gas grease bearings is given, their advantages and disadvantages, prospects for use in turbines are considered. Mathematical models have been compiled for the most common and promising types of bearings for turbines. The results of the numerical calculations of the basic integral characteristics (bearing capacity, stiffness, gas consumption on the lubricant, moment and friction power) of bearings with gas lubricant are presented. The results of research, the experience of designing and operating bearings with gas grease and turbines with such bearings at the Department of Shipy internal combustion engines and installations of the Far Eastern State Technical University named after V.V. Kuibysheva.
