A retrospective overview of the formation and development of welding and gas-termic processes is given. Their classification is given and the physical essence is considered. The physical and metallurgical foundations of welding, pressure, rations, thermal cutting, surfacing, spraying, metallization are presented. The characteristic of welding, floating and sprayed materials and equipment is given. The features of welding, thermal cutting, soldering, surfacing, spraying, metallization are described. The mechanisms for the formation of defects of welds and compounds, welding deformations and stresses, methods for reducing and preventing them, as well as issues of ensuring the strength and corrosion resistance of welded joints, quality control, economics and organization of firing work, safety and environmental safety of welding and gas -termmal processes are considered.
