The textbook contains separate consistent theoretical and practical materials in the courses "General composition" and "Artistic design of the costume". This material is studied by students studying in higher and secondary professional educational institutions under the programs "art of costume and textiles" and "design". These are future stylists and costume designers, whose professional activities are aimed at creating a costume from the standpoint of an artistic image, where a special place is given to aesthetic function.
The goals of the textbook - to introduce the reader to the main laws of the compositional organization of the structure of the form in design, to form professional skills in working with the shape of the costume and its elements, to create a base for the formation and development of artistic perception of form. The content of the book is aimed at developing the ability to sound the use of composition laws in solving design problems, the formation of the ability to independently turn theoretical knowledge into methods of professional creativity.
