A number of modern software and hardware platforms for amateur creativity are considered. The platforms are selected for newcomers to understand, with a low price of the starting kit, but at the same time productive and expandable, popular among makers, from schoolchildren and students to leaders of circles and teachers. Modern online services for developing and mocking amateur projects Arduino Create and Autodesk Circuits are described. It is described about the training platform Arduino and the ARDUINO IDE environment, a single -chip ESP8266 system, the Nodemcu Internet platform and LUA, Omega2 microcomputer and cloud environment cloud. Examples of programs and copyright projects of useful devices are given, special attention is paid to the errors and difficulties that beginners face.
