The methodology for using the finite elements method is given in the development of technological forging processes and volumetric stamping processes. A significant place is devoted to the features of the implementation of the finite elements method in the QFORM program - one of the most popular software products for modeling technological processes for processing volumetric blanks. Sources of possible errors in modeling are shown. The tools for analyzing the results of modeling and interpretation of the calculation results, settings of calculation parameters, modeling examples using the QFORM program are considered. Basic materials are given on the basics of physics and mechanics of plastic deformation, forging technologies and volumetric stamping, technological features of blacksmith and stamping equipment. At the end of each section of the manual, questions and tasks for self -control are given.
