This book is a fifth of essays that continues the publication of a series of articles on the history of domestic heat power industry. In the period from 1883 to 1899, the first central power plants worked in St. Petersburg to cover Nevsky Prospekt and private premises in the district, created by K.F. Simes. The history of their appearance and functioning is known today only in the most general terms. At the same time, archival documents allow you to find out many interesting details. The restoration of the true history of this process is the main goal of this publication
