Essays on the history of thermal power industry. Part 1

This book is the first part to open the publication of a series of articles on the history of the heat power industry. The events discussed occurred about 100-150 years ago, therefore, the description of the first energy sources producing electric and thermal energy requires appeal to archival documents and publications of those years in which you can find out or clarify the details of both technical features and chronology. The history of the heat power industry is closely related to the history and successes of the development of different industries: heat engines, boiler rooms, electrical engineering, including intensity lamps and arc lamps, electricity generators, methods of transporting and distributing produced electric and thermal energy.
The book discusses the early period of the development of joint production of electric and thermal energy - cogeneration. Based on the study of the primary sources, it was shown that the pioneers of the cogeneration in 1828-1830. are the German inventor of steam cars Ernst Alban, the creators of the steam machines of the Brunn factory Friedrich Scholl and Henry Lutz. The role of Barnaul materners is noted, the ideas and projects of which have been ahead of the development of heat power industry for almost 100 years.
