This essay continues to publish a series of articles on the history of the heat power of Russia and is dedicated to the early period of electrical lighting of Nevsky Prospekt.
In the period from 1879 to 1883, work began in St. Petersburg to create electrical lighting of Nevsky Prospekt. At first, the partnership “P. N. Yablochkov-Isobrant and Co., then the newly created partnership “Electrotechnical” under the leadership of Chikolev V.N. Based on archival materials and publications of those years, the achievements and failures of the participants in this process are described in detail.
As always, the work is illustrated by color archival materials
