The book sets out the criteria for the maximum state of the working organs of the soil machines as a result of the wear, analytical expressions of determining their durability based on the wear resistance of the materials from which they are made, and the wear capacity of soils. The results of studies of relative wear resistance of steels, surfacing materials, and technical ceramics are given. Recommendations are given on the choice of steel brands for the manufacture of the working bodies. Methods of calculating the strength of the working bodies (for the example of the plow’s limber) from deformation and fracture are presented. Various technologies for strengthening the working bodies and the results of their tests are given. An example of the substantiation of materials, technologies and designs is presented in the development of the working bodies (on the example of a plow’s limch), which provides maximum durability and minimum costs in their manufacture.
