General reference information on the theory of cutting, cutting tools and instrumental materials, lubricant and cold technological environments is given. Information is given on the device and cinematics of turning machines with both manual and numerical controls, as well as their units. The multi -purpose machines of the vertical layout for the processing of rotation bodies are described. The adjustment is considered for the required accuracy of processing, installing and reconciling the blanks of complex shape. Attention was paid to turning with plasma heating: the requirements for plasma equipment, operating modes, automation of software and mathematical processes, examples of use of manipulators are given.
