A generalization of knowledge of corrosion teaching as a whole is presented, the features and patterns of chemical and electrochemical corrosion, the most important types of corrosion and methods of protecting materials and structures from corrosion. The concept of corrosion, types of corrosion and types of destruction, features of chemical and electrochemical corrosion, criteria for assessing the velocity of the corrosion process are considered.
