The issues of the structure of coal and methane macromolecules, the natural properties of coals, the resources of methane of carlegase deposits of Russia, the methanony of coal layers, the influence of the depth of coal layers on their methane content and gas recovery in mining and degassing wells were studied. The methanoost of coal mines and excavation fields, methods of forecasting the intensity of methane isolation in mines were investigated. Actual data on the methanony of coal layers, methanotality of excavation areas, the intensity of the extraction of methane from coal layers by degassing, taking into account the petrographic composition of coal. The gas -dynamic processes of the release of methane in the mining of gas -oobblem mines and their degassing systems have been studied. A methane danger has been investigated in the underground method of developing methane -containing coal layers, friction sparkles and accumulations of methane in produced spaces.
