The basics of kinematics and the dynamics of transport piston engines of internal combustion, made using various layout circuits, are outlined. Along with the traditional in-line, V-shaped, including opposite, location of the cylinders, the circuits with the "chess" location of the cylinders in the block with shifted connecting rod neck of the cable shaft of the engine are considered. The kinematics of a mandacial crank mechanism is examined in detail. The issues of dynamics with the bringing of calculated dependencies of forces, moments, the choice of the rational order of the cylinders in relation to the considered kinematic schemes are described in detail. Significant attention is paid to the unevenness of the speed of rotation of the crankshaft and balancing the engine. The loads on the indigenous and connecting rod bearings of the crankshaft are also considered, the knowledge of which is necessary when determining the bearing capacity of bearing nodes.
