The book is the final part of the three -volume edition of the "Chronicle of Soviet Civil Aviation". It covers the 30 -year period - the years of the highest development of Aeroflot. The work is based on the archival materials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the Ministry of Aviation Industry. Memoirs of civil aviation veterans, reference and periodicals were also used.
The book provides about 500 fragments from the history of domestic civil aviation. They cover the history of the creation and use of three generations jet aircraft, talk about the experience of creating a supersonic airliner, civilian helicopters, and ground aircraft equipment. In the conclusion, a generalizing analysis of the above material is given, the development trends of civil aviation in the USSR are traced
