Brief information is given on the composition of shiht materials, steel swimming technologies in electric furnaces with acidic and main lining. The principles of calculating the shiht are set out, the methods for calculating the charge for swimming steel in electric furnaces by the close method on computers are presented. Examples of calculation of the charge for swimming steel in electric arc and induction furnaces are given by the close method and standard Simple-method for computers.
