The textbook contains the history of the development of an automated electric drive in Russia, general information about automated electric drives, the main material on the mechanics of the automated electric drive, energy and compatibility. Automated electric drives with asynchronous engines are considered, namely their characteristics, methods of smooth and stepped regulation with the analysis of their advantages and disadvantages, methods of starting and inhibition. The main attention is paid to asynchronous automated electric drives with scalar controls. Each section of the textbook contains a list of definitions, the main theses and control issues, the knowledge and development of which should contribute to the complete assimilation of the material of the discipline.
