In 1890, the brothers A. and I. Grenat acquired the right to publish a desktop encyclopedic dictionary Association A.Garbel and K.
From 1892 to 1901. The newly educated Association of A. and I. Granat and K "issued 5 publications of the Dictionary of 8 volumes each, and in 1903 the 6th edition in 9 volumes.
In 1910, the release of the 7th edition began and by the end of 1917 there were 33 volumes (1-33), and from 1918 to 1949. Another 24 volumes were issued (34-58, except 56).
The dictionary of the grenade brothers" is the only encyclopedic edition, which was continued and completed after the revolution.
Since 1993, the Publisher"s "Three Century Stories" represented the 7th edition of the "dictionary" in 57 volumes of 76 books. To date, 40 volumes in 46 books.
Published in the Soviet Times of the Dictionary are a bibliographic rarity and carry all the prints of the communist ideology of those years. At the same time, the Dictionary contains extensive material and unique material on the political, social, scientific and cultural life of Soviet Russia, and then the USSR, other countries of the socialism of those years.
There are great interests of political figures, numerous actual and statistical material for the development of world economy and much more. The proposed publication of the dictionary will be a valuable acquisition for libraries of educational institutions, all who are interested in the era of 20-40 years of our country.
