Viktor Erofeev (b. 1947) is a prose writer, a pioneer of Russian postmodernism, who has gained a scandalous reputation as a debunker of values. He is a prominent figure in the underground scene, a literary critic, a candidate of philological sciences, and a laureate of the V. V. Nabokov Prize. His books have been translated into dozens of languages and are known worldwide. "Encyclopedia of the Russian Soul" is one of the writer's most famous novels, first published in 1999 and causing a wide public resonance.
