Nikolai Baytov was born in 1951. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering, worked as a programmer, and later as a guard. In the 1980s, he published the samizdat almanac 'Epsilon-Salon' together with A. Barash. In the 1990s, he co-founded the Literary Performance Club with S. Litvak, organized a series of book art exhibitions and literary festivals, including the First and Last Obscene Lexicon Festival (2014). He has published six books of poetry and five books of prose, and in 2011 he was awarded the Andrei Bely Prize as a prose writer.
