The next volume of the Russian Legal Heritage series publishes “The Propaze of Her Imperial Majesty Ekaterina II, the Automobiles of the All -Russian, this commission on the composition of the project of the new Code”. The text of this monument to the Western European and Russian legal thought of the Enlightenment was printed in the 60-80s. XVIII century. Not only in Russian, but also in French, English, German, Latin, Dutch, Italian, Greek and Polish. Moreover, the transfers of the work of the Russian empress into foreign languages were accompanied by a certain editorial correction. The result was not just translations, but, in essence, various options for its text.
This book provides, in addition to the original - Russian and French - texts of “Punishment”, its options in Latin and German, printed in Russia in 1770, and two options for its translation into English - 1767 and 1768 ., discovered and submitted for reprinting by the leading professor of the law of the Dikinson school of Pennsylvania State University, Honored Professor of the Comparative Law of the University of London, William Elliott Batler. At the end of the book, the bibliography of the printed publications “Suns”, compiled by U.E. Batler. The main text of the book precedes the biographical outline of Professor V.A. Tomsinova, dedicated to Empress Catherine II.
