The album depicts embroideries of the Tambov, Moscow, Novgorod, Tver and Yaroslavl provinces, South Russian, Veliko -Russian, Little Russian and Finnish ornaments, as well as Ryazan, Tambov, Olonets and Belarusian folk embroideries. The Publishing House "White City" represents the reader of the colorful album "Embroidery of the peoples of the Russian Empire." It includes embroideries of the Tambov province, collected in 1885, the Moscow, Novgorod, Tver and Yaroslavl provinces - in 1886, the South Russian ornaments - in 1878, the Great Russian and Little Russian - in 1877, Finnish ornaments - in 1894, as well as Ryazan, Tambov, Olonets and Belarusian folk embroideries. All these meetings capture the fantasies of unknown craftswomen from the people. The fact that this is magnificent folk art has come to our time, we owe Princess Shakhovskaya, K. Dalmatov, F. Volkov and many others who tried to attract public attention to the study, preservation and maintenance of traditional art.
