An outstanding Russian writer Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin (1870-1938) loved animals very much and devoted them to many of their works. In his house, seventeen dogs lived, a few cats, goat and monkey Marya Ivanovna - the writer saved the animals in trouble, cared for them, he treated, studied their habits. All his four-legged heroes - elephants, cats, dogs - lived in fact. In the story Yu-Yu describes the cat Ksenia, a small daughter Kuprin. Illustrations for this book were created by a wonderful artist David Borisovich Borovsky (1926-2004)
