Textbooks written by the outstanding educator A.P. Kiselev have undergone numerous reprints and have long become classics for teaching mathematics in Russian and Soviet schools. The rejection of teaching "by Kiselev," according to many teachers, has led to a significant decline in the quality of students' knowledge in this area.
The book "Elements of Algebra" significantly differs from the classic book "Elementary Algebra," which has been repeatedly improved and reprinted, eventually being officially approved (under the title "Algebra") as the only algebra textbook in Soviet secondary schools. It continues to be reprinted under this name in our publishing house (Kiselev A.P. Algebra. Part 1. 176 pages, Part 2. 280 pages. M.: URSS).
The material in the "Elements" has been reworked towards better distribution. Some sections have been simplified, while others have been expanded. Overall, the entire material has been significantly expanded and supplemented with new information, including material intended for in-depth study of the subject. The book contains material on basic algebra concepts such as identical transformations, functions, equations, inequalities, progressions, as well as additions in the form of a section dedicated to combinations and Newton's binomial, and tables of four-digit square roots, logarithms, and antilogarithms.
The second part of the textbook, "Elements of Analysis," dedicated to basic concepts of analysis, serves as a continuation of the book "Elements of Algebra."
A separate publication is the book "Problems and Exercises for 'Elements of Algebra and Analysis'" (M.: URSS), which contains numerous exercises and problems compiled by A.P. Kiselev.
The publication is intended for middle school students wishing to improve their knowledge in algebra, students, practicing educators, and all those interested in mathematics.
