Electrical safety during repairs of high-voltage overhead power lines

The monograph is dedicated to the issues of electrical safety during the operation of overhead power lines with a voltage of 35 kV and above. Approaches to ensuring electrical safety are justified, which not only complement but also significantly expand the framework of the conceptual apparatus provided by current regulatory and technical documents in the power industry. Special attention is paid to local and extended sources of dangerous touch voltage, which are not taken into account in current regulations and during work on overhead power lines. Based on the results of research on the functional features of grounding devices of overhead power lines, the presence of a characteristic zone - the potential equalization zone - has been identified. It has been established that only within this zone can grounding devices ensure personnel safety from the effects of dangerous touch voltage on overhead power lines. Five levels of induced voltage are proposed, depending on the grounding scheme of the repaired overhead power line. As practice shows, the highest number of accidents occurs at levels that are not considered in current labor safety regulations.
