Efficiency of banking activities

This monograph systematically addresses the issue of the efficiency of banking activities for the first time. Based on a critical analysis of Russian and foreign practices, as well as literary sources, a list of criteria for evaluating the efficiency of commercial banks' operations is proposed and justified. Economic and social indicators, organizational and legal factors are separately identified, a matrix of social effects of banking activities is developed, and the necessity of including them in the evaluation procedure of qualitative indicators is proven. The set of qualitative indicators is aggregated into a single integral indicator. Regulatory requirements for commercial banks to disclose information on the results of their activities in the field of corporate social responsibility are also discussed.
