The monograph for the first time reveals a poorly studied socio-economic phenomenon of poverty, its essence and features, specifics and methodological approaches to its measurement in Russia and abroad, and sociological diagnosis of social consequences. At the same time, the analysis of poverty feminization is carried out taking into account the country experience in the context of the transition from transit to the inclusive economy and the new gender order as one of the types of social -order formed in the world. The authors were drawn by the connection of feminization with the characteristics of the country gender landscape, which forms along the contour of the gender asymmetry of the population of different countries and Russia. The methodological approaches to the quantitative measurement of different types of poverty in the EU countries, Scandinavia and the United States are described in comparison with the domestic practice of measuring the depth of the spread of poverty, its social consequences and influence on the consciousness and behavior of women, and the social status of the family. Glossary is given to study the phenomenon of poverty and technologies for minimizing its consequences.
