The book summarizes the results of field research of Canadian geographic and urbanist Leslie Kern, who is engaged in topical issues of women"s life in a modern city. The author shows how much the structure of the city - from its layout to norms and customs that regulate the communication of its inhabitants and residents - has turned into a gender struggle. Describing his own experience of motherhood, friendship, work and activism, Leslie Kern proposes to apply an intersectional feminist approach to urban planning and believes that this will contribute to the formation of new generation urban studies
