"The fate of the Romanian gold reserves, the jewelry of Queen Mary, historical rarities and works of art exported to Russia more than a hundred years ago, is one of the problems in our days of the relationship of the two countries. Nevertheless, there is still not a single monographic study on this topic in Russian historiography. The task of this work is to make up for the specified gap on the basis of new archival documents. The work discusses the causes and circumstances of the evacuation of national values in Moscow, the close relationship of the problem of "Romanian gold" with the occupation of the Romanian troops of Bessarabia in early 1918 was revealed, the movement of the gold reserves during the Civil War on the territory of Russia, and the discussion of the status of Bessarabia and the question of "O Romanian gold "at international conferences of the interwar period. The transfer of Romania of archival collections in 1935 and historical and artistic values in 1956 was covered in detail. Particular attention was paid to the problem of mutual settlements between countries, the study of which showed that the damage caused by Romania of our country during the two world wars far exceeded the cost of Romanian gold ", which ended up in Russia. Materials of the bilateral public commission on the history of Russian-Romanian relations are presented, including Romanian gold, which began work in 2004
