The main work of the largest theorist of Marxism A.A. Bogdanova three-volume work "Tectology", published in the 1910-1920s, is devoted to explaining the processes of the development of nature and society based on the principle of "dynamic" or "mobile" balance, borrowed from natural science. All developing objects of nature and society represent, according to Bogdanov, integral formations, or systems consisting of many elements. A characteristic feature of Bogdanov’s equilibrium is the statement that opposites should be balanced, balance each other and only in this way a stable state of the system is achieved. In developing systems, two opposite trends operate at the same time: increasing stability due to integration processes, the desire for equilibrium and a decrease in stability caused by the appearance of "systemic contradictions". “Sooner or later, systemic contradictions are intensified to the point that they outweigh the organizational connection (system), then the crisis leading to either its transformation or to decay, the crash should come.”
In the tectology of Bogdanov "for the first time formulated the main provisions of the systematic approach and theory of self -organization of systems. She not only did not lose her relevance, actually acting as a forerunner and theoretical basis of the current concept of sustainable development, but also serves as an important information source for its further deepening and improving. ”
