The monograph presents a package of methods to identify structural-functional features of the urban environment by studying social processes in it. Within the framework of the procedural approach, the urban environment is interpreted as a set of infrastructure conditions for various social processes, the course of which is ensured by special institutions in the city. Seven complex social processes are described in detail, the spatial organization of which can be technologically optimized in the construction and reconstruction projects of those buildings in which the process planned by architects will be deployed. The theoretically substantiated and empirically confirmed list of the necessary properties of space adequate to the procedural requirements.
