The composition of the outstanding Russian sociologist and foreman N. Ya. Danilevsky “Russia and Europe” (1868), along with the works of O. Spengler and A. Toynbee, laid the foundations of the civilizational approach to the development of society. The author’s theory proposed by him can be considered an unconditional achievement of the author, two of which-Slavic and German-Romanian-are always opposed to each other during a closer examination.
underestimated during Danilevsky’s lifetime, perceived by many “for literary curiosity”, this book has experienced a second birth and is rightfully considered an important milestone in the development of sociology and geopolitics
