This book is the second, supplemented and corrected, publication of a course of lectures, which was read by M.K. Mamardashvili (1930-1990) to students of Tbilisi State University in 1984-1985. The course called the “psychological topology of the path” is a detailed “thinking-through-provering” by the author of his own philosophical thought on the material of one of the most significant literary works of the 20th century-the novel by M. Proust “In search of lost time”-and carries the imprint of the event of an intellectual meeting of the philosopher and writer. Proust’s novel becomes for Mamardashvili a unique space of understanding what could be called the phenomenology of the event. The section “From the Archive” first publishes preparatory materials for lectures, the letters of Merab Mamardashvili to his friend Pierre Belfruis, excerpts from the notebooks of the 70s, etc. The publication is supplemented by the first publication of the book in 2014
