In the monograph "luxury in cultural contexts. The variability of development "raises the urgent problem of luxury in the discourse of social reality. The authors make a reasonable conclusion that the world of luxury gave rise to a special way of social perception in which polarization of opinions acquired the acute character in discourse. Researchers attribute this discourse to the iconic system of the organization of modern society. Luxury became a cult of mass culture and, having fit into public consciousness, radically transformed the actual mechanism of traditional culture. The monograph is devoted to the understanding of the nature of dialectical contradictions that determine the essence of luxury, and the identification of the conceptual characteristics of this phenomenon.
The work analyzes the luxury as a sociological category, which includes the framework of the problem field, the sociological definitions of the luxury phenomenon, and luxury as an object of sociological research is also studied.
The book "luxury in cultural contexts" will be useful to specialists in the field of social sciences, students, graduate students and teachers of a wide profile
