The textbook of Scott Harris is designed for the first acquaintance with the sociology of emotions. In it, in an accessible form, the basic concepts of this area of sociological science are revealed: emotional norms, control of emotions and emotional labor. Despite the small amount of the textbook, the author shows the essence of the sociological approach to emotions, affecting individual theories and the scope of the study of emotions in sociology. He chose the main theoretical prospects in which the sociology of emotions began to be formed primarily - symbolic interactionism and the theory of social exchange. Each section is equipped with the analysis of interesting empirical studies, recommendations for reading and exercises.
